Fruit and Vegetable Challenge Starts Monday

The Lower School fruit and vegetable challenge begins November 4 - November 15.
For the first 2 weeks in November, students will tally if they ate a lunch or snack serving of fruits or vegetables. The grade who wins will earn an extra P.E. class and fruit party.  Students will additionally be discussing in P.E. class the importance of eating a well-balanced diet.

Food Drive

In this season of giving, the St. Michael's all-school canned food drive will take place from Monday, November 11 - Chapel on Wednesday, November 20, to benefit the St. Michael's Church food pantry.
Most needed items: canned vegetables (any beans, corn, green peas), canned fruit, canned soup, old-fashioned quick cook oatmeal (not instant packs), mac & cheese, pasta/noodles.
K-5th grade will collect donations in their homerooms and 6th-8th grade will collect them in the library.

Box Tops: Support St M When You Shop

The Lower School is excited to bring back the Box Tops for Education program.  Each box top will raise 10 cents for our school.
The program begins November 1st and runs through December 17th.  The winning grade will be able to celebrate with both a dress down day and ice cream party before the holiday break.  A list of participating products may be found HERE.
NEW UPDATE:  There is now a Box Tops app whereby you can scan your grocery receipt! The program is in transition, and some brands only offer the scanned box top as opposed to the traditional ones you cut out. Digital box tops instructions:
1.       Download the App:  Box Tops for Education.
2.       Set up your account/profile and select St. Michael’s Episcopal School by searching the 23235 zip code.
3.       Select the ‘Scan’ button at the bottom of the App screen.
4.       Take a picture of the entire receipt. It allows you to 'Add Sections' and take multiple pictures if the receipt is long.
5.       You can designate ‘Credit’ on the same screen when you take the pictures, before you click ‘Submit’. It’s a star icon.  (For example, Kindergarten-Adams).
6.       Click ‘Submit’ and the box tops are calculated and saved in your profile and sent to St. Michael's
7.      App submissions will not count towards the competition for the winter collection. We may revisit in the Spring depending upon level of usage/participation.
Questions may be directed to our Box Top coordinatorsCatherine Driscoll or Annie Witthoefft.
