Graduation Update

Dear Eighth Grade Families,

As we wrap up an unprecedented year, I am very pleased our final closing events are on campus and with you as we gather to celebrate your eighth grader!  Graduation is fast approaching, and I want to share additional details for the ceremonies:

Tuesday, June 23
  • On the evening of June 23, we will deliver a virtual graduation ceremony at 7 p.m. via email and social media.
Wednesday, June 24
  • The class will be divided into small alphabetical groups (arranged below), each with a designated time of arrival.
  • The first group is to arrive at 9:15 a.m.  The last group is to arrive at 2:15 p.m.
    • If at all possible, graduates and guests (5) should arrive in one car.
    • Parking attendants will be on hand.
    • Your punctuality is critical to our effort to keep every subsequent group on schedule.
  • The ceremony will be held under a tent positioned on The Green.
  • Each group and guests will be seated in the tent in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
  • Graduates should dress in appropriate graduation attire.
  • A photographer will be on site to capture your graduate receiving his/her diploma.
  • We ask that graduates and guests remain until each graduate within the group receives his/her’s diploma.
  • The amount of time that each group will be on campus is approximately 45 minutes.

We are enormously proud of our soon-to-be graduates.  Collectively, they have modeled scholarship and leadership and espoused our tremendous Dragon spirit.  Individually, they have embraced challenges with effort, determination, and resilience, thereby developing poise and confidence for great success in high school and beyond.  Their next schools are so fortunate to have them!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!  We look forward to being with the graduates and their guests on June 24.

Sincerely,

Robert E. Gregg, III
Head of School
