Plan for Full On-Campus Instruction

On Friday, October 23, St M families were emailed the School's detailed plan to return to full on-campus instruction on November 30.  Our goal is to provide the best possible mission-driven, values-aligned learning experience for our students while keeping our community healthy. We are grateful for the support of our parents, students, faculty, and staff.
A reminder that parent action items (regarding interest in Remote Learning, as well as Morning Gym and after-school Extended Day registration) have a firm NOVEMBER 2 DEADLINE.
All families who wish to utilize our Morning Gym and/or afternoon Extended Day programs MUST REGISTER so we can appropriately plan for participant numbers. All families desiring care will have a spot in the program.
  • Submit a Remote Learning Request form HERE.
  • Register for Morning Gym and/or Afternoon Extended Day HERE.

Annual Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive: November 11

St. Michael's all-school canned food drive will take place on November 11 to benefit the St. Michael's Church food pantry. Food items will be collected during a.m./p.m. carpool. During this pandemic, the food pantry is serving more families than ever.
Most needed items: peanut butter, canned vegetables (any beans, corn, green peas), canned fruit, canned soup, rice, canned chicken, mac & cheese, pasta/noodles. Please see this flyer for a more comprehensive list of suggested donations.
The cans collected will be "blessed" by Reverend Jeunée at our virtual Thanksgiving Chapel on November 18th. Thank you in advance for your support of this important ministry at St. Michael's Church!  -Christian Hansen, Chaplain

Reminder

A friendly reminder that ALL K-8 students should bring headphones/ earbuds to class every day for classroom/academic use.

SMPA Spotlight

We have our children at St. Michael's for so many reasons -- the strong academic program, the emphasis on DRAGONS values, the small, familial culture, our wonderful teachers and staff, to name a few. My fondest memories are of those where my child has participated in St. Michael's time-honored traditions -- the Maypole Dance, the Christmas Pageant, Grandparents' Day, and so on -- that are such a vital part of our school community. The SMPA is here to steward these traditions, working closely with parents and the School to provide opportunities to deepen our community's connection.

While the pandemic has affected many of our beloved traditions, SMPA Officers, Committee Chairs, Room Parents, as well as staff and faculty, are brainstorming safe and creative ways to celebrate our children and to bring our community together. We always welcome your ideas!  - Caroline Peters, St. Michael's Parent's Association (SMPA) President
