2021 Back to School Planning
Dear St. Michael's Families, 
I hope this note finds you and your family enjoying some summertime fun with each other and loved ones. With the calendar turned to August, I wanted to reach out to make sure that you have everything you will need when your mind begins to think about Back to School time. All around campus, faculty, staff, and friends of the School have been busy working to prepare for the 2021–2022 school year.
Below you will find important updates and information. Please note that several more communications will be sent out later in August with first week of school info, daily health screening and COVID mask and mitigation updates, carpool instructions, and more, so please stay tuned to your email.

Back to School Basics
Be sure to visit and bookmark stmschool.net/community/summerback-to-school as your comprehensive home for supply lists, summer assignments, dress code information, campus maps, and orientation schedules. 
Updated carpool maps will also be posted shortly at the above link.
Teacher/Advisor Assignments
  • Lower School students and families will find out their teacher assignments at Meet Your Teacher Day on Thursday, August 26. 

  • Middle School families will receive an email from their Advisors the week before Orientation.

Carpool Requests Needed By Noon, Wednesday, August 18

If your family is part of an organized carpool, we need you to submit your carpool information to the School via the link below NO LATER THAN NOON ON AUGUST 18 so that participating families can be assigned to the same carpool loop. Families will receive assigned carpool loops at Orientation.

It's THE MOST wonderful time of the year! We are excited to welcome our Dragons back to campus for orientation and the start of the school year!
LOWER SCHOOL (Grades K-5)
  • Click HERE for the Kindergarten and Lower School "Meet Your Teacher Day" and Extended Day Open House Schedule (Thursday, August 26)
  • Note: There is a Kindergarten Parent Orientation and Social on Wednesday, August 25, at 6:30 p.m. On-campus location to be announced.

MIDDLE SCHOOL Orientation and Locker Set-Up (Grades 6-8)

Spiritwear Website and Pop-Up Shop (Volunteers Needed!)
Be sure to check out our School spiritwear website for exciting St M apparel. Sizing info is included with each item. New fall items will also be posted in October. NOTE: Fridays at St M are Dragon Dress Days, whereby students and faculty may wear St M apparel above the waist.

We are also planning a BACK TO SCHOOL Spiritwear Pop-Up Shop IN THE GYM during the following dates and times:
  • Thursday, August 26, from 8-11 a.m., GYM  (Lower School "Meet Your Teacher" Day)
  • Monday, August 30, from 8-11:30 a.m., GYM (Middle School Orientation) 
We have LOTS of exciting new items. Show your DRAGON PRIDE and come ready to shop! SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED!
We are in need of some VOLUNTEERS to help set up and staff the shop. Volunteering also offers you early access to the items for purchase. Thank you in advance for your help!

Yay Lunch!

St M families will be able to update their Yay Lunch registrations beginning August 26 once families have their Lower School teacher assignments. Middle School just needs grade level.
Menu/order placement for lunch will open Thursday, September 2nd. 
The first date of lunch delivery will be Tuesday, September 7th. Click below for more information on this optional hot lunch program. 
Note: ALL STUDENTS should bring a bag lunch, nut-free snack, and water bottle the first week of school.

Back to School Health and Info Forms Were DUE JULY 15 

For the upcoming school year, St. Michael's is shifting all student medical information to a secure online database. Parents must enter and update required information for each child this summer through the Magnus Health online portal (instructions below) accessed from your PowerSchool Parent account. 
As these were due July 15, please complete these required forms ASAP if your family has not already done so.  
NOTE: There will also be some additional forms posted later in August that all families will need to complete.

Academic Calendar for the 2021-2022 School Year
This detailed Academic Calendar (updated August 9) contains the dates of important events and school early closings/holidays.   
All SCHOOL and SPORTS CALENDARS are available on the School website under "News and Events/Calendar." 
You may also subscribe to the following calendars so they feed to your own calendar program: Academic Calendar, Lower School Calendar, Middle School Calendar, plus all fall Middle School Sports calendars (Cross Country, Soccer, and Field Hockey).

  • Note: When subscribing to calendar feeds, you need to subscribe to BOTH the ACADEMIC All-School Calendar AND either the Lower School or Middle School Calendar (or all three).
Middle School Sports August Pre-Season Workouts 
Middler Schoolers are invited to OPTIONAL pre-season August workouts as follows. These workouts are a great way to meet new and returning students! All sports should meet at the Singleton Campus GYM.  Please contact Athletic Director Wally Kern with any questions.
  • Thursday, Aug. 26, 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Cross Country and Soccer 
  • Friday, Aug 27, 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Field Hockey 
After-School Enrichment Classes, Sports, and MS Extended Day Registration CLOSES August 15
Registration for Fall K-8 After-School Enrichment Classes, Sports, and Middle School Extended Day closes on AUGUST 15. Don't miss out!
 If you missed Lower School Extended Day registration in May and need a spot, please email Ashley Buffey, abuffey@stmschool.net, ASAP.
