TOCSL EVENTS

Good Morning, Commuters
FREE breakfast for commuter students on Wednesday, March 6th from 9-11:30am (end time may vary while supplies last). It is an excellent opportunity for off-campus students to connect over breakfast. TOCSL serves ~150 UMD students per month!
We will be handing out our exclusive Muffin Man keychains to the first 50 students, while supplies lasts.

Transfer students are invited to share their experiences as a transfer student at UMD on Wednesday, February 28 at 5PM in 2115 Susquehanna Hall. This event is open to all transfer students, and food will be provided. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP at this link.

Join the CARE Team at UMD
The CARE to Stop Violence office provides free, confidential advocacy and therapy services to survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. CARE simultaneously empowers the campus community to prevent violence through educational presentations, events, and outreach activities.
Are you interested in joining our team? Applications for CARE'S Peer Programs are open!

CARE offers three Peer Programs for current undergraduate students:
Peer Education, Peer Outreach, and Peer Advocacy. Our year-long programs enable students to gain professional experience and earn 6 course credits.
Students will learn about power-based violence, support survivors, develop their public speaking skills, and gain program planning experience

Swim Lessons continue this spring. Sign up online for classes offered Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the semester.  
YOU'RE INVITED! 2024 BSU-UMD Social Justice Alliance Symposium
Join the BSU-UMD Social Justice Alliance and 2nd Lt. Richard W. Collins III Foundation for the 6th Annual SJA Symposium titled: "Lift Every Voice:'' Artists for Social and Racial Justice on Friday, April 12th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Hear from University President's, the Collins' family, members of the Social Justice Alliance and symposium panelists: Amanda Seales, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Nikkolas Smith, Laura Coates and Leon Timbo as they explore the intersections of social justice, entertainment and art. The Symposium will be held at the University of Maryland's Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, located at 7801 Alumni Dr, College Park, MD 20742. Transportation will be provided for folks traveling from BSU’s campus to UMD. For questions, please contact Victoria Alexander (she/her/hers), at valex@umd.edu.

MENTAL HEALTH

The Wellness Series
The Counseling Center is hosting drop-in virtual skills sessions. Check out any or all of the 16 topics Mondays-Thursdays at 4 p.m. throughout the semester. Upcoming topics include: Coping with Stress, Dealing with Disappointment, Conquering Procrastination, and Effective Communication Skills. Advanced registration is not required.

Wags for Wellness!
Wags for Wellness is an Animal Assisted Activity, featuring well trained and highly skilled volunteer pups from our partner organization People. Animals. Love. (PAL). Visit the Health Center’s Wags for Wellness page for more information and a list of upcoming special events this spring.
