Housed in the Center for Digital Scholarship in the UChicago Library, the Data Visualization Fellowship offers a unique opportunity for a cohort of three University of Chicago graduate students to enhance their research, teaching, and learning through visualization technologies. The fellows’ central opportunity will be to develop an independent project related to their academic program. This focus on an independent project may help them explore how their work could be translated to a career in library sciences and will give them a portfolio of skills and techniques to take with them at the end of the fellowship period.

Leakey Foundation Research Grants
Deadline: July 15
The Leakey Foundation exclusively funds research related to human origins, including paleoanthropology, genetics, primate behavior and the behavioral ecology of contemporary hunter-gatherers. Priority of funding is commonly given to exploratory phases of promising new research projects that meet the stated purpose of the Foundation. The majority of The Leakey Foundation’s Research Grants awarded to ABD doctoral students are in the $3,000-$15,000 range with a funding limit of $20,000.
