Good morning! Doctoral Commencement is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Littlejohn Coliseum today. A new IT governance policy and process for digital solutions is now in effect; A chemistry lecturer becomes the first student to graduate from the University’s Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship program.

• Doctoral Commencement is scheduled for 3 p.m. today in Littlejohn Coliseum, followed by Commencement for bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates tomorrow at 9 a.m. Both ceremonies will be streamed on ClemsonTV.

• Clemson has introduced a new IT governance policy and process for evaluating and approving technology solutions, aligning purchases with strategic priorities. Departments and individuals seeking to purchase or renew a digital solution must submit a request form through a new process called CheckIT.

• Upon graduating today, Destinee Cooper, who is staying at Clemson to serve as a chemistry lecturer, will become the first student from the University’s Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship program to earn a Ph.D. The program provides financial support, mentorship and other resources to participating STEM students considered scientific leaders with expertise in advanced materials research.

• Thirteen South Carolina teachers attended the inaugural Professional Advancement Through History (PATH) Summer Teacher Institute on main campus in July. Hosted by the Department of Historic Properties, the Institute included workshops helping teachers incorporate topics like place-based learning and local history into their curricula.
