Outdoor Recreation Summit now soliciting session proposals

The 2023 Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit, in partnership with the Oregon Trails Summit is planned for Nov. 2-4. The summit will take place at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park, owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe, and in surrounding areas on Oregon's Southern Coast, traditional lands of the Coos, Lower Umpqua, Siletz, Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, and other Indigenous bands. The summit combines fun and high-impact in-person networking opportunities, educational content, trail stewardship work parties, and in-field tours and workshops.
Please help develop the summit program by submitting session proposals before May 31.

      Online course available for farmers and ranchers

      Developing a Successful Agritourism Business in Oregon is an online course for farmers and ranchers interested in adding an agricultural tourism business to their operation. This online course was developed by OSU Extension Service along with Oregon partners to help producers learn about the possibilities and complexities of opening farms and ranches to the public. Participants will learn about the types of agricultural tourism and determine if it is a good fit for their whole farm business. The course is self-paced and includes written material, videos and worksheets. Participants should allow up to four hours to complete the course. Registration is $20. Scholarships are available upon request.

          Next month’s meeting is in conjunction with the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
