Reminders for Our Current Circumstances

by Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy

Hello Dear Ones,

I am so grateful that we are still able to be connected, even while we’re unable to be together in person. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, or to any of our ministers or staff if you need emotional or pastoral support, modest financial assistance, or just help getting connected (or re-connected!) here at the Fellowship. Here are a few more reminders…

•  Thank you so much to each of you who have continued supporting the Fellowship financially or have continued paying your pledge. Your support makes all our programs possible.
•  E-mail scammers are working hard! Staff and ministers will never ask for money or gift cards via email. If you have any questions please reach out directly to the minister or staff to ask.
•  The building is closed. If you need to drop something off, please pre-arrange it with a staff person and mark the drop-off clearly for whom it is intended.
•  The Sunday services are now fully pre-recorded to allow us to have more enriched services and to free our staff to attend to other offerings like R.E. on Sunday mornings. You’re invited to log on early to socialize before the service begins!
•  Technology is never perfect, so please be patient. If you’re having issues, try these options first: turn off your own video (we won’t be able to see you but you’ll see us!) which might make your own internet bandwidth work better. Try logging off and logging back in. If that doesn’t work, you can always view the service later, in its entirety. Check out our Youtube page for the services and other recorded programs.
•  If you want to submit a video or photo for use in our Sunday services, but are having trouble let us know. We will do our best to help you and we can mail you paper copies of the permission forms if needed.
•  We know Zoom fatigue is real, and it’s not the same as being in-person, but we are working hard to make our Sunday mornings and other offerings places of true connection. Please come—we think you’ll find it meaningful.

See you soon. With love…

-Rev. Christina

Need Help Voting?

Are you registered? (The last date to register online in Wisconsin is October 14th!)
•  Do you need help getting an absentee ballot?
•  Do you need someone to witness your absentee ballot?
•  Do you want someone to deliver your absentee ballot to a local dropbox?
•  Do you need a ride to the polls to vote? (Early voting starts October 20th!)
Contact Marie Luna, director of congregational life, at marie@fvuuf.org or 920.731.0849, if you have questions about voting or need help in any of these areas. We want everyone to be able to vote their UU values!

Popcorn Fundraiser for Deva 2022

We’re doing a Double Good Popcorn virtual fundraiser to support travelers (especially youth!) going to Deva, Transylvania in 2022! It’s 100% contactless, the group earns 50% of the profit, and the product ships right to you, the buyer! Prices range from $16 - $99. It’s really delicious!
Our pop-up store will be open from Thursday 10/15 through Sunday 10/18. The popcorn is made in Chicago, fresh just for us, then sent out to your home, workplace, family, or wherever you want it to go!
In the event that travel is not feasible, the funds will support the general mission of the partner church program. Contact Theresa Spoehr @ welivemindfully@gmail.com with questions.

In-Person Tech-Support, Video & Picture Event!  Sunday, Oct. 11, 5:00-7:00 pm

RSVP to Christina at christina@fvuuf.org by Friday, October 9 at 3:00 pm if you plan to attend.
If you have been hoping to submit a video or picture, but are finding the technology a little daunting or struggling to find the time, or if you have been having issues connecting online to our Fellowship offerings… Join us this Sunday, October 11 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Fellowship parking lot, and Rev. Christina or Music Director Steve Sieck will help you! We will record videos or take pictures for you, have paper copies of permission forms, and offer tech support! We ask that if people are already being helped that you wait in your car to allow physical distancing. We’ll do our best to maintain six feet of distance but tech-support might warrant closer contact if you feel comfortable. We will wear masks and ask that you do so, too. If you need tech help, please bring your device.
