Graduate School - Keep Moving Forward
Graduate School - Keep Moving Forward

“…Every challenge — every adversity — contains within it the seeds of opportunity and growth.”

- Roy T. Bennett, Author of The Light in the Heart

I have been thinking quite a lot about this quote while continuing to serve you from my virtual office. The world around us changed almost overnight. Many of you may be listening to a steady drumbeat of negative news about the economy and our industries and wondering if you are ready to face these challenges. Perhaps now is the time to seize the opportunity to expand your educational growth with a Master’s degree from HRM. A Master’s degree provides you the time to gain new skills which will help you stand out in the marketplace. In a short time, you will gain advanced skills which will put you in a position to gain the top jobs in our reshaped industries upon graduation with your Master’s. Take a moment to consider how bright your future will be after facing the present challenges and grasping the opportunity for growth with an HRM Master’s degree. Reach out to our Graduate Program, RHIM and Retail Coordinators, or myself to discuss your opportunities. You will find links to each of us enclosed in this newsletter, along with tips; testimonials, special programs and scholarship opportunities, program information, and more. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Karli Scott says...

"The HRM Graduate program is a great next step in your career. Not only do you gain a plethora of skills in a short period of time, but you grow so much as a person. The professors really care about you and your journey, which is especially helpful when it gets closer to finding a job. And the icing on the cake is that most of your tuition gets paid for in scholarships!" - Graduating with her Master's in Hospitality and Retail Management in May of 2020

Noelle Jordan says...

"Going to grad school was the best decision I could have made for my career. Amidst all that is going on, graduate school can be the spacer and the leg-up you need to excel post-college. The HRM program is different from other grad programs in the fact that your professors are heavily invested in your success. I recently accepted a job in Los Angeles thanks to my leading faculty member, Dr. Robert Jones, taking my resume to a conference he attended. I couldn't have imagined getting a job without the skills, experience, and connections I have developed during my time in the HRM Graduate Program." - Graduating with her Master's in Hospitality and Retail Management in May of 2020

Vivian Nguyen says...

"I love grad school because it has made me grow as a person, a student, and a professional. As I was approaching the last few months of undergrad, I realized I wasn’t ready for the real world and needed more experience. I decided to go to grad school and it was the best decision I ever made! The benefits of grad school are being able to apply the knowledge of undergrad to real-life applications. I’ve gained so much experience and confidence in presenting to executives. HRM has given us various opportunities to grow our skillset with programs like Blue Yonder, Space Planning, Floor Planning, and Shopper MX. What I do love most about grad school is the help and support that the professors provide us. They constantly have our best interests in mind and it truly shows through the curriculum and the grad program." - Graduating with her Master's in Hospitality and Retail Management in May of 2020
