Mental Models at the Intersection of Learning and Human-Robot Interaction

This talk presents a preliminary framework to integrate conceptualizations of mental models from human-robot interaction and learning sciences disciplines. Dr. Joe Michaelis (University of Illinois, Chicago) will share insights from several examples of past work to illustrate and explore the potential of this framework to build theory, inform practices, and generate testable hypotheses in robot-assisted learning and the broader field of learning with technology. The talk is designed to be an open space for the presenter and audience to explore and refine these ideas and put these insights to the test.

Generative AI Writing Competition

Join the Peabody Library each month for an exciting new challenge that brings together creativity and cutting-edge technology by inviting students to co-create short writing pieces using generative AI tools like Gemini, Amplify, ChatGPT, and Claude.

This month's challenge is Love, Reimagined. Your mission is to write a love letter from a character in one fictional universe to a character in another. Imagine the possibilities: Batman's love letter to Elsa, or any other creative pairing you can dream up!

Collaborate with your favorite AI writing tools to craft your piece, then submit your work by February 23, 2026. Winning submissions (based on both judges and student's selections) will receive prizes!
