Before we start our coverage (and corrections), IRW learned this evening that veteran Indiana broadcaster and radio station owner Art Angotti died yesterday, at the age of 74.
Mr. Angotti did so much within Indiana broadcasting. Whether it was owning radio stations (through Broadcasting Management, Inc., University Broadcasting, Artistic Media Partners, et al.), negotiating TV deals (When Indianapolis nearly gained a MLB franchise, Mr. Angotti had already reached an agreement with Indy's Channel 4 WTTV to television "Indianapolis Arrows" baseball games), or developing talented broadcasters, it was definitely all about the people.
I know if I tried to compile a list of radio stations that he owned, I'd probably miss one (or several). Artistic owned clusters in South Bend, Lafayette, Bloomington, and Fort Wayne, along with stations in Fort Collins, Colorado and Ohio.

Northcentral
Correction: Last May, Lindsay Stone joined
Gray's NBC affiliate/WNDU-TV (Channel 16, South Bend). Ms. Stone very quickly rose through the ranks (reporter, weekend news anchor, "16 News Now at 4" anchor) and now Noon weekday news anchor.
Northwest
Correction: Brothers Broadcasting's Oldies/WIBN (98.1fm, Earl Park) flips format from Oldies to Classic Hits (dropping the 1950s and 1960s music). Country/WRIN (1560am, Rensselaer) and FM translator W283CO (104.5fm, Rensselaer)
remain Country, while WLQI (97.7fm, Rensselaer) remains Classic Rock.
All three stations flip from using Westwood One syndication, to using Local Radio Networks (LRN).
Central
Correction: Entercom retains Alex Keddie as Indianapolis Market Manager until closing.

Promotions Director – WAJI, WLDE, WAJI-HD2, Fort Wayne, IN
The Promotions Director will work with programming, digital and sales departments to develop and execute successful promotional campaigns; build and maintain relationships with advertisers, and promotional partners; serve as the liaison representing the station and its promotional opportunities. This is a position that will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
Develop creative and innovative promotional events and campaigns
Represent stations brands including Majic 95.1, Fun 101.7 and ALT 99.5, Fort Wayne, IN
Assist Sales in creating revenue generating opportunities
Oversee and execute all on site station promotional events
Lead the Promotions department from ideas to promotion execution
Work closely with Operations Manager as well as the management team
Conduct and direct weekly promotions meeting
Oversee all contest prizes and contest rules with assistance from management
Database maintenance
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively manage and develop employees in a very busy, and creative environment
Familiarity with Fort Wayne and Northeast IN area helpful, but not required
Working knowledge and understanding of Radio Programming & Sales, specifically individual formats and their target audiences
Ability to assist in maximizing promotional revenue opportunities
Excellent writing/editing and computer skills, including Power Point and Photoshop
Experience in promotions, marketing, radio or related industry preferred
Understanding of digital marketing & promotion and social media platforms
Leadership and Management skills helpful
Education: College education preferred, but not required
Must have valid driver’s license, and you will be required to pass a background check.

44News (WEVV-TV) in Evansville, Indiana, is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist/Weekday Reporter.
The successful candidate will be familiar with weather terminology and have the ability to put together and deliver a clear, understandable, and accurate weather forecast. That person will also be able to act as a general assignment reporter/MMJ which includes the ability to take complex issues and situations and explain them in clear, concise, and accurate story form; enterprise stories; cultivate sources; and communicate effectively in both the spoken and written word.
Familiarity with Edius or similar editing software, Inception or similar newsroom computer system, and Baron or a similar newsroom weather system is necessary. The ability to shoot and edit video is also a must.
