Update: Swick Broadcasting's Country/WLZZ (104.5fm, Montpelier, Ohio) flips format to Classic Rock. Morning host Randy Edwards exits that airshift, but remains with the company. The "Z104" airstaff lineup:

Middays: Cara Carriveau (10am until 3pm)
Afternoons: Gregg Stone (3pm until 8pm)
Nights: Jim Coda (8pm until Midnight)
Overnights: Tim Jeffreys (Midnight until 6am)
Sarkes Tarzian completes their $515,000 purchase of Regional Mexican/WGBJ (102.3fm, Auburn). Last Wednesday, (01/09), they flipped the format to a simulcast of their Alternative/WAJI-HD2 (95.1fm-HD2, Fort Wayne), also heard on translator W258BY (99.5fm, Fort Wayne) "Alt 99.5", under GM Lee Tobin and PD Laura Duncan, who also programs sister AAA/WTTS (92.3fm, Trafalgar).
Northwest
Lynzee Johnson joins Mid-West Family Broadcasting's Country/WYTZ (97.5fm, Bridgman, Michigan) in mornings, co-hosting alongside Matt Malone (Ms. Johnson will be known on-air as "Kenzee Blake"), along with handling middays. Ms. Johnson last worked for SummitMedia, doing nights at KTTS in Springfield, Missouri.

Hoosier AM/FM welcomes Mandi Michaels to afternoons at AC/WXXC (106.9fm, Marion) along with Production Director responsibilities at their seven radio stations:

Creative Data Management's Talk simulcast WXLW (950am, Indianapolis) and Pilgrim Communications' WFDM-FM (95.9fm, Franklin) makes another schedule adjustment:
Nights now consist of Mark Levin (6pm until 9pm), Michael Savage (9pm until 10pm) and Ben Shapiro (10pm until Midnight).
A former GM and part owner of what was then WIFN (95.9fm, Franklin) died on January 7. Ron Douglas was 74 years old. For 20 years, Mr. Douglas worked with WIFN. The visitation and funeral were last week. Here's the obituary.
Where Are They Now? Former WTHR-TV Executive Producer Sarah Moore was recently named News Director at "ABC Action News" in Tampa, Florida (WFTS-TV).
Westcentral
Update: In 1969, Tom McClanahan joined CBS affiliate/WTHI-TV (Channel 10, Terre Haute) while attending Indiana State University. By 1971, Mr. McClanahan graduated ISU and followed his boss to NBC affiliate/WTWO-TV (Channel 2, Terre Haute). Typical of small market TV, Mr. McClanahan tried nearly everything: videographer, reporter, weekend anchor, sports director, and advertising sales. In 1992, Mr. McClanahan returned to WTWO and succeeded the late Johnny Palmer as news anchor, and briefly adding News Director leadership in the early 2000s. Mr. McClanahan recently retired.
Succeeding Mr. McClanahan will be weekday late evening anchor Mike Tank, who will now be seen at 5:00pm, 6:00pm and 11:00pm.
Southeast
iHeart's Classic Rock/WQMF (95.7fm, Jeffersonville) midday host "Harley" (James Rectenwald) died on January 3. Harley worked nearly 30 years at WQMF and was only 54. His colleagues posted this tribute.

January 6: In 1948, 1480am in Terre Haute signed on as WTHI. Today, it's WPFR.
January 7: In 1960, 92.3fm in Bloomington signed on as WTTV-FM ("Tarzian TeleVision"). It's now WTTS, and licensed to Trafalgar.
January 8: In 1955, 1460am in North Vernon signed on as WOCH for owner Dorrell Ochs. It's now WJCP ("Jennings County Panthers").
January 9: In 1995, Channel 23 in Marion changed call letters from WMCC-TV to WNDY-TV after Wabash Valley Broadcasting purchased the TV station. Also on that date, The Bob and Tom Show debuted on their first network affiliate: WFWI (92.3fm, Fort Wayne). In 1998, legendary Fort Wayne broadcaster Tom Williams dies. Age 60. In 2010, former WOWO News Director Gary Froseth dies, Age 66.
January 10: In 1975, 107.1fm in Danville signed on as WGRT. Today, it's WEDJ.
January 11: In 1989, WBYR (98.9fm, Van Wert, Ohio) signed on with a classic hits format, and Fort Wayne stop signs were never the same again.
January 12: In 1976, 90.3fm Fort Wayne signed on as WBCL ("We Broadcast Christ's Love"), and remains so today.
January 13: In 1995, WZWZ in Kokomo moved frequencies from 92.7fm to 92.5fm. In 2013, WAWK(AM) and W238BH (1140am, 95.5fm; both Kendallville) owner Don Moore dies. Age 60.
January 14: In 1951, 1440am in Portland signed on as WPGW, and remains so today. Also in 1961, 1520am in Shelbyville signed on as WSVL. Today, it's WSVX.
January 15: In 2008, WIBC and Indianapolis 500 broadcaster Lou Palmer passed away. Age 75. Here's how he sounded on WIBC.
January 16: In 1986, 104.9fm in Muncie became WOKZ. Today, it's WERK. Before WOKZ signed on, WWWO in Hartford City moved from 104.9fm to 93.5fm. WZWZ in Kokomo moved from 93.5fm to 92.7fm. WXUS in Lafayette moved from 92.7fm to 93.5fm.
January 17: In 1977, 97.7fm in Goshen signs on as WZOW. Today, it's WYXX. In 1995, former WAWK (1140am, Kendallville) broadcaster Alex Andres ("Alex "Screamin'" Freeman") dies. In 2017, Muncie broadcaster Al Rent dies. Age 73.
January 19: In 2011, former WNDU-TV, South Bend News Director Bob Young dies. Age 87. Also in 2011, former WBAT(AM), Marion PD John Anderson dies. Age 83.

Promotions Director – WAJI, WLDE, WAJI-HD2, Fort Wayne
The Promotions Director will work with programming, digital and sales departments to develop and execute successful promotional campaigns; build and maintain relationships with advertisers, and promotional partners; serve as the liaison representing the station and its promotional opportunities. This is a position that will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
Develop creative and innovative promotional events and campaigns
Represent stations brands including Majic 95.1, Fun 101.7 and ALT 99.5, Fort Wayne, IN
Assist Sales in creating revenue generating opportunities
Oversee and execute all on site station promotional events
Lead the Promotions department from ideas to promotion execution
Work closely with Operations Manager as well as the management team
Conduct and direct weekly promotions meeting
Oversee all contest prizes and contest rules with assistance from management
Database maintenance
Qualifications:
Ability to effectively manage and develop employees in a very busy, and creative environment
Familiarity with Fort Wayne and Northeast IN area helpful, but not required
Working knowledge and understanding of Radio Programming & Sales, specifically individual formats and their target audiences
Ability to assist in maximizing promotional revenue opportunities
Excellent writing/editing and computer skills, including Power Point and Photoshop
Experience in promotions, marketing, radio or related industry preferred
Understanding of digital marketing & promotion and social media platforms
Leadership and Management skills helpful
Education: College education preferred, but not required
Must have valid driver’s license, and you will be required to pass a background check.
