Where Are They Now? Later this week, former then-WYLT (103.9fm, Fort Wayne) and then-WNHT (96.3fm, Churubusco) DJ Man at Large (McConnell Adams) will join Townsquare Media/Lansing, Michigan to program both WFMK-FM (99.1fm) and WJIM-FM (97.5fm), along with mornings on "97.5 Now FM."

LeSEA Broadcasting's WHME-TV (Channel 46, South Bend) adds the MGM digital subchannel Light TV to their .3 subchannel.
Northwest
FOX's WPWR-TV (Channel 50, Gary) adds the MGM digital subchannel Light TV to their .3 subchannel.
This Week in Indiana Radio History
Sign-on dates seem to be a prickly matter, subject to great debate, and mostly impossible to confirm. If there's something we need to add to the "calendar," please let us know. Please e-mail us if you have updated information.
September 24: In 1950, 91.3fm in Indianapolis signed on as WAJC in the evening. In 1956, WAJC moved from 91.3fm to 104.5fm (where it's now commercially owned WJJK). In 2001, Verna Whitworth passed away. Age 91. Verna hosted "Visit with Verna," a music show for kids at WHBU(AM) (1240am, Anderson).
September 25: In 1966, 89.5fm, Valparaiso signed on as WVUR. It later moved to 95.1fm. In 1996, WDJB (106.3fm, Columbia City) flipped formats from Rhythmic CHR to Modern AC, as "Storm 106.3."
September 26: In 1954, Channel 15 in Waterloo signed on as WANE-TV. It later moved to Fort Wayne. In 1990, WBBE (106.3fm, Columbia City) signs on with CHR format.
September 27: In 1926, 1490am in Richmond signed on as WKBV ("William Knox BrookVille") and still is. In 1953, Channel 50 in Evansville signed on at 3:00pm as WEHT-TV ("Watch Evansville-Henderson Television.")
September 28: In 1957, Channel 21 in Fort Wayne signed on at 3:00pm as WPTA-TV (for founder Sarkes Tarzian's daughter and son Patricia and Thomas). In 1964, 105.3fm in Lafayette signed on as WASK-FM. Today, it's WKOA. In 1967, 107.5fm in Terre Haute signed on as WBOW-FM. After going dark for over a decade, 107.5fm has new owners, and is WYLJ.
September 29: In 1998, former Indianapolis broadcaster Lou Sherman dies. Age 63. Mr. Sherman worked in Indianapolis (WNTS, WBRI, WTUX, WFBM) and worked with David Letterman.
September 30: In 1950, 90.9fm in Bloomington signed on as WFIU. It later moved to 103.7fm. In 1971, 1380am WKJG and 97.3fm WKJG-FM (both Fort Wayne) each broke off from co-ownership with then-WKJG-TV (Channel 33, Fort Wayne).
