Fall 2025: Engaging Modern Leadership

Development & Training:
  • Facilitating Dynamic Groups: We welcomed Donna Silverberg, who led 24 professionals through a lunch session on Facilitating Dynamic Groups, providing actionable tools for managing team decision-making.
  • Narrative Psychology: At our downtown Spark location, Jeff Thompson hosted a workshop on Narrative Psychology for 20 attendees, exploring how the stories we tell shape our professional interactions. 
  • Getting Unstuck: In a session at the YMCA, Steve Joiner guided local professionals through frameworks to overcome personal and professional stalemates.
  • Chamber Insights: Ralph Schulz, former CEO of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, addressed 30 professionals and students in our Modern Foundations course. He offered a candid look at the high-stakes challenges inherent in leading Nashville's business community.

    Congratulations to the Conflict Management graduates

    This fall, 4 students became the newest Lipscomb ICM alumni as they completed an M.A. in Conflict Management and one student for certificate


    This fall, our training produced new Tennessee-certified mediators, helping our communities find resolution fairly and quickly. 
    Civil Mediation: 18 Middle Tennessee professionals and 6 ICM students completed civil mediation training.
    Family Mediation: 14 participants earned credentials focused on empathy-centered practice, safety planning, and durable agreement design in high-stakes, personal contexts.
    Crossover Credentials: 6 practitioners expanded their toolkit by crossing over from family to civil mediation, strengthening versatility to serve organizations, courts, and community settings.
    If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Institute for Conflict Management, these are some great upcoming courses offered to start or jump back in:
    February 6-7 and February 20-21  -- Negotiation  
    March 6-7 and March 27-28  -- Communication in Conflict 
    April 9-11 and April 16-18- Civil Mediation with Adam McGough (new instructor!) - limited spots remaining
    May 26th - Summer Semester begins
