Public art coordinator, Mandy Vink,
will be at the Boulder County Farmers Market on Wednesday, August 17 for a conversation about public art in Boulder.
  Stop by her table and introduce yourself. 
Congratulations go out to Robert Sher-Machherndl and
Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet
on the success of their Kickstarter campaign. Funds will be used for their world premiere public art performance, "White Fields" on September 17 in Boulder.  The Office of Arts + Culture is a sponsor of this project.  Look for more information soon. 
Call for Artists:
Boulder Public Library now accepting proposals for 

2017 exhibitions in Canyon Gallery

Boulder Public Library is now accepting proposals for 2017 exhibitions in the Canyon Gallery.  The library is looking for exhibitions that activate that gallery by merging visual display with conversation and civic-related content.  Proposals are due by August 31, 2016.

•    BCAA Endowment Grants: Deadline to apply is August 11, 2016 at 5 p.m.  Learn more and view the online application here.

•    BCAA administers a variety of grants and call for entry opportunities for the local community.  Check their site for specifics.

•    Business of Arts Workshops: Save the Dates
Cultural Competency Workshops:
September 27, October 18 & November 1, 2016
For funders, grant applicants, executive directors and board members. Make sure to have a representative from your organization at these upcoming training sessions with Johanna B. Maes, Ph.D. 

Topics to be discussed include:
--Defining Diversity and Inclusivity in your Nonprofit Setting
--How to Diversify Your Organization on the Board and Staff Levels
--Combatting Cultural Appropriation in Nonprofits
All sessions held in Boulder.  Location TBD. Space is limited. Advance registration required.

  1. Applications available now for the annual November "Dance is for Every Body!" showcases at the Boulder Public Library and its branches. Deadline to apply is Sept. 14, 2016More info and applications. Sponsored by Dance Bridge and BPL.

  2. This years Jaipur Literature Festival/Boulder (JLF@Boulder), is now open for registration, and they are recruiting volunteers (info on website).

  3. Boulder County Arts Alliance (BCAA) is looking for grant panelists to review applications.  If interested, please contact charlotte@bouldercountyarts.org or call 303-447-2422.

  4. Indoor mural commission for Kroger Company (King Soopers)
    Apply here before 5 p.m. on August 15, 2016.  Open to all artists.  Priority given to artists living in Boulder and Weld Counties. 

  5. Rocky Ridge Music Academy: Flute, Clarinet, and Bassoon Instructor Vacancies
    RRMC instructor openings for their newly-formed, year-long community Music Academy in North Boulder. Interested candidates should email a cover letter, résumé, a link to sample works, and three references to Jenna Palensky, summer office assistant, at musicacademy@rockyridge.org.  Check website or call 303-449-1106. Open until filled.

  7. Boulder International Fringe Festival begins next week and runs, August 17 - 28 in a variety of downtown Boulder venues. Check their new site for special events, artist schedules, opportunities, and also the Family Fringe on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Boulder Public Library.

  8. The Dairy Arts Center Honors will once again pay tribute to the artists, performers, creatives, and arts supporters who make life here better for us all.
