Good afternoon, neighbors -
March Madness is coming to Bender Arena and it's time to support your Eagles! AU's Men's Basketball team is coming down the home stretch of a magical season and looking to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 years. After a year of buzzer beaters, SportsCenter Top 10 moments, and stellar fan attendance, AU has secured a 2 seed and a home matchup in the first round of the Patriot League tournament.
This sudden hoops success seems to have happened overnight but it turns out it was 14 years in the making, thanks to our 2nd year, soon-to-be-star head coach. Check out this awesome Washington Post profile on DMV native and DeMatha hoops legend Duane Simpkins, seizing his opportunity to transform AU basketball into a top-tier program.
