Dear RVR Homeowners,
On behalf of the Board and the entire community, I’m thrilled to announce we have selected Ashley Lynch as RVR’s new General Manager.
The Board unanimously approved Ashley’s hiring at tonight’s monthly Board meeting.
Ashley comes to RVR after nearly 13 years in property management and hospitality in the Aspen area. For the past four years, he’s been working for Marriott International, managing the St. Regis Aspen. In his current role, Ashley oversees all operational departments there, building on his strengths in finance, budgeting, project management, customer satisfaction and problem solving.
While we had a nationwide search to fill the General Manager position, it turns out the best candidate was right in our backyard. Ashley lives in the Prince Creek area of Carbondale with his wife, Cara, and their two daughters, 8-year-old Azalea, and 10-year-old Camellia. In his spare time, Ashley enjoys mountain biking and exploring the wilderness surrounding Mount Sopris.
His hiring follows a three-month search, where we received dozens of resumes, and screened more than 25 candidates, both nationally and locally. We had a number of very strong applicants, which speaks to how desirable it is to work at RVR, and lead our management team.
“I very much look forward to engaging with the RVR community, and understanding what homeowners want – now and in the future,” said Ashley. “For me, coming to RVR was the opportunity of a lifetime. I can’t wait to get started.”
Ashley will begin working at RVR on January 17. But you won’t have to wait until then to meet him. We are planning a series of events at the Ranch House between now and then where you’ll have a chance to get acquainted with him.The first of those fireside chats will be on Sunday, Dec. 19 from 5 pm to 6 pm. Finally, a few acknowledgements.
First, I want to thank our Interim General Manager, Carl Hostetter, who has steadied the ship for nearly three months as we looked for his replacement. Carl came out of retirement to take this temporary position, and along the way, has built a first-class leadership team at the Ranch House. Carl has committed to staying around as long as necessary to ensure a smooth transition for Ashley. Thank you, Carl. We look forward to returning you to your well-deserved retirement.
And kudos to our search team, led by Board member Michael Banbury. His team left no stones unturned, and delivered Ashley to our doorstep without involving the time and expense of headhunters or executive search firms.
Michael was joined on the search team by former Board member Cathy Cooney, and Sherry Stripling, an RVR property owner with an extensive background in executive talent management. The fourth member of the team was Carl Hostetter, who offered keen insights into what’s needed to lead RVR, based on his real-time experiences as our Interim GM over the past three months.
I hope you’ll join me and the Board in extending a warm RVR welcome to Ashley when he begins in mid-January.
On behalf of your volunteer RVRMA Board,
Gary Lesser
Board President
