New Mini-Grant Opportunity for Libraries


SciStarter and HHMI Tangled Bank Studios invite libraries from around the US to host citizen science-related events around the Flyways documentary this Fall. Flyways explores a global conservation effort led by bird experts and citizen scientists working to understand and protect these migratory shorebirds.

Apply to receive $800 to host an event or program featuring the film Flyways and related SciStarter citizen science resources this Fall.

FY2024 TEAM II NOFO Announcement

Next Gen STEM’s Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions (TEAM II) program is pleased to announce an upcoming FY2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that will expand the current program from a two-tier to a three-tier system by adding a mid-level funding tier. The NOFO is expected to be released in the third quarter of FY2024 (April-June). The new mid-level funding tier was created in response to feedback from the informal education community.

Call for proposals is now open! Share strategies for building community partnerships, strategic planning, programs to engage the community, funding opportunities, and more! Sessions for the conference will be one hour. Priority will be given to sessions that include interactive elements and audience participation. Every selected session will receive one complimentary conference registration.

“The STAR Library Network (STAR Net) is a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities across the country. STAR Net focuses on helping library professionals build their STEM skills by providing “science-technology activities and resources” (STAR) and training to use those resources.
STAR Net is built upon a strong network of collaborators and partners, led by the Space Science Institute’s (SSI) National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL).
Funding is provided by the National Science Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, NASA Office of STEM Engagement, and the NASA Science Mission Directorate.
