We need your help! Slots are now open for the 2026 Brown County Fair food stand. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, supporting all of our club programs, events, and youth activities.

The food stand is located at the Brown County Fairgrounds. All 4-H members, families, and friends are welcome to participate. Multiple dates and times are currently available for scheduling.

Required Training for Shift Leaders and Cashiers (must attend one):
- August 4, 2026 6pm during the Leaders Meeting at the UWGB Stem Center
- August 7, 2026 6pm at Brown County Fairgrounds in the Food Stand Area
- At the training you will learn about new updates for this year including new menu items!

Wisconsin State Fair Opportunities |
|
|
|
The Wisconsin State Fair has 2 great opportunities:
Discovery Barnyard Volunteer Group
|
- August 3-16, 2026
- $17.50/hr
- Lodging & meals may be included
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Flexible hours possible
|
Responsibilities may include directing truck, trailer, and fairgoer traffic, supporting draft horse show activities, and assisting with behind-the-scenes setup.

Discovery Barnyard Volunteer Group
Your group will educate fairgoers about WI agriculture, help staff with interactive exhibits and animal areas, and engage in hands-on learning experiences with the public.
Volunteer Requirements:
|
- 14 Volunteers for one full day (9:30am-9:30pm)
-
At least 2 adults (21+) must serve as group contacts
- Volunteer rotate through shifts to allow breaks and time to enjoy the fair
- Update: Looking for groups available either August 9 or 13.
|
- Free fair admission for volunteers
- Lunch and dinner provided
- Parking for up to 3 vehicles
- $1,000 stipend for your group

Peshtigo National Bank - Fair Scholarships |
|
|
|
|
Peshtigo National Bank is now accepting applications for its 2026 Fair Project Scholarship Program, supporting youth exhibitors participating in county fairs throughout Marinette, Oconto, Brown, Portage, Marathon, Shawano, and Langlade counties.
|
|
|
|
Now in its third year, the program recognizes the hard work, responsibility, and commitment required to raise and care for livestock and other animal projects. During the program's first two years, Peshtigo National Bank awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships annually to youth exhibitors across its service area.
Eligible exhibitors showing livestock, poultry, rabbits, or other animal projects are encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their dedication to their projects and involvement in agriculture.

Applications must be submitted by August 28, 2026.
|
|

|
2026-27 Youth Ag Program Grant |
|
|
|
- Total Award Pool: $20,000 with individual awards ranging from $500 to $5,000.

Grants support projects that align with YQCA’s commitment to food safety, animal well-being, and character development in the livestock industry. Examples include:
- Hands-on youth workshops with YQCA certification
- Livestock judging clinics
- Youth agricultural education events

Curriculum development, biosecurity training, and more
|
- Junior breed associations
- State species organizations
-
Local, county, state, or national livestock show organizations
- 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters
|
*Only one application is permitted per chapter, club, or organization per year. Must be a U.S.-based organization.
|
|
| Grant Program Requirements:
|
- All proposed projects should:
- Demonstrate youth education outcomes, such as:
- Training future producers
- Promoting safe food systems
- Maximizing resources in quality assurance
- Align with at least one of the YQCA pillars:
- Food Safety
- Animal Well-Being
- Character Development

Eligible expenses include: educational supplies and curriculum materials, facility rentals, AV equipment, marketing and promotion, participant resources, instructional tools or demonstration equipment, and other approved expenses that directly support youth learning

Ineligible expenses include, but are not limited to: staff salaries and administrative costs; adult travel; fundraising; trophies; infrastructure; professional development not tied to youth programming; and the purchase of livestock, vehicles, or personal equipment.
|

Please note that due to fair preparations, there will be no August 4-H at YWCA meeting. The next meeting will be September 8, 2026.
4-H at YWCA is open to youth grades K-12 and is held the second Tuesday of the month 5:30-6:30pm, with at different activity at each meeting. Prior membership in 4-H or YWCA is not required. Previous activities included: screen printing, brush bots, elephant toothpaste, paper rockets, and archery.

39th Annual WI State 4-H Gymkhana |
|
|
|
|
September 12, 2026
Wisconsin State 4-H Gymkhana is an annual horse and pony competition for youth in grades 6th– 13th featuring speed pattern racing events including: Cloverleaf Barrels, Flag Race, Plug Race, Pole Bending, LT Special, and Key Races.
This event is a fun and challenging opportunity for 4-H Youth to showcase their skills and connect with other 4-H members from across the state.

61st Annual WI State 4-H Horse Expo |
|
|
|
|
September 18-20, 2026
The State 4-H Horse Expo is an annual event for all youth enrolled in the 4-H Horse Program and draws hundreds of youth and horses. Youth participate in a wide variety of educational project and riding competitions focused on horse experience. Horse Judging will also be held at Expo.
Horse and Pony Show classes include: Draft, Driving, Walk Trot, Saddle Seat, Hunt, Western, Showmanship, and Trail Riding. See the class list for complete show bill.

The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show from PBS invites youth quilters and sewists, ages 15 and under, to enter the annual Kids’ Quilt Challenge.
Quilts will be displayed during The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, and participants are invited to attend a public awards presentation at the event on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Green Bay Summer Meals Program |
|

Learning doesn't stop when school lets out. Neither does the need for good nutrition!
This year's Summer Meals Program ends August 14, 2026. ☀️
All children (not only GBAPS students) 18 years old and younger can receive free summer meals from GBAPS. Families do not have to qualify for free/reduced meals to participate.

For the second year, we are opening nominations for the Wisconsin 4-H Volunteer Awards! These statewide awards seek to honor the outstanding volunteers that support and help grow our programs and impacts!
There are 3 categories:

- Emerging Volunteer of the Year (1-5 years of service)
- Outstanding Club Leader of the Year
- Outstanding Project Leader of the Year

|
|
|
Applications are open in 4-H Online and include a short essay with some guided questions. The applications are open through August 1, 2026, and we encourage everyone to submit a nomination! A committee will review the applications, and the award recipients will be recognized at Fall Forum in November.
