The spring semester is starting in just a few days and we have important Charger Book Pass information; details about parking registration and permits; and other important reminders, dates, and deadlines to share with you.

Charger Book Pass Program

This spring, Cypress College is continuing to provide all your required textbook-related course materials (eBooks, textbooks, and access codes) as part of the Charger Book Pass for no more than $100. This one-year pilot program this 2023-24 academic year provides an easy, cost-effective, single-price option for reducing textbook costs for students.

If you’re registered for one or more classes at Cypress College, you automatically have the Charger Book Pass! If for some reason you decide you'd prefer not to use the Charger Book Pass or it simply does not make financial sense for your class situation, opt out of the program by February 14. Already know the Charger Book Pass just isn't for you? Watch the "How to Opt Out" video, then access the Opt-Out Portal to opt out of the program.

If you opt out by the February 14 deadline, you will not be charged for the program.

Prepare for the Start of Spring 2024

Parking Registration and Permit Required for Free Spring Parking

You must register your vehicle(s) and display a permit to access free on-campus parking. Each vehicle must be registered.

Register your vehicle or register your motorcycle by January 28 to receive your spring permit by mail.

Parking permit enforcement begins February 12. All other parking and traffic regulations will continue to be enforced throughout the district at all times.

Charger Food Pass Provides $12 for Meals, Drinks, Snacks

Cypress College is offering a free Charger Food Pass, which provides students with $12 to purchase meals, drinks, and snacks at the Charger Cafe Monday-Friday during the semester.

This value will be automatically loaded daily to an assigned card you'll pick up during the first two weeks of the semester. A Cypress College student ID is required to claim your food pass.

Don't have a student ID card? Purchase one for a $2.50 fee and take your photo at Admissions and Records on the 1st floor of the Student Center.

Log in to Canvas for Online/Remote Courses

Go directly to Canvas at cypresscollege.instructure.com, and log in with your student ID and myGateway password.

Please check into Canvas before your first day of class. If you don’t see your course(s) listed, we encourage you to reach out to your instructor.

Please note: Most textbook-related course materials provided through the Charger Book Pass are directly accessible in Canvas.

Need to Add a Last-Minute Class?

View the list of spring open classes. You may register for classes in myGateway without an add code until January 28, at 11:59 p.m. After that, you will need to request an add code from the instructor.
