Heather Hatton, Public Relations Manager at Chinook Winds Casino Resort
Q: Chinook Winds partners with organizations across Lincoln County. Can you describe the casino's philosophy on giving back to the community?
A: Community engagement is at the heart of everything we do at Chinook Winds. We aim to enrich our community with fun events, provide a platform for nonprofits to share their stories and raise funds for worthy causes.
Q: We always love hearing about fun events! Tell us about some of these upcoming activities, and how they will benefit the community.
A: We have a very full lineup of exciting events coming up this summer. Some of the big ones include Beach, Bacon and Brews (July 13), the Surf City Classic Car Show (August 17 – 18), and our Celebration of Honor in September. Each one of these events raises thousands of dollars for local charities, including Angels Anonymous, the Willamette Valley Cancer Center, Neighbors for Kids, and many more.
Q: Chinook Winds recently unveiled a new sign on the north end of town! Can you share some details about that project?
A: We are so excited to welcome visitors into Lincoln City with our new Monument Sign. The sign was built on a small parcel of Confederated Tribes of Siletz sovereign land. This sign will keep visitors informed on upcoming events, and make them feel welcome as they enter and exit town.
