Looking for a way to get more involved in organized medicine? Serving as a delegate at Tennessee Medical Association’s House of Delegates is a great opportunity to make your voice heard, advocate for your profession, and help shape healthcare policy in Tennessee.
The House of Delegates is where physicians from across the state come together to present and debate policies that impact the practice of medicine and patient care. This year’s meeting will take place on May 17, 2025, at the Embassy Suites in Franklin, TN.

Great news for physicians in Tennessee! A recent ranking from Becker’s Hospital Review places Tennessee among the top 10 best states for physicians in 2025. The ranking considers factors such as compensation, job opportunities, and overall practice environment, highlighting Tennessee as a great place for physicians to live and work.

During National Volunteer Month, we extend a heartfelt thank you to our physician volunteers! These dedicated doctors support our mission by serving on the Nashville Academy of Medicine and Medical Foundation Boards, committees and work groups, and as delegates to the TMA House of Delegates. And more than 2,300 physicians have volunteered through Project Access Nashville to provide care for our low-income, uninsured neighbors. Your efforts save lives and continue to make Tennessee a great place to practice medicine.

| Community Event: Future Way Forward Conference | |
On May 17-18, physicians and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend the inaugural Future Way Forward Conference at the National Museum of African American Music.
This conference includes six tracks, including a healthcare track, and aims to bring healthcare experts and physicians in Nashville together with others to discuss how we can build a more inclusive community through making Nashville healthier. Discussions will also include how to improve healthcare access to communities in need and build a stronger physician workforce.
