In this month's spotlight, Kate Zhang, PhD, the Program Assessment Manager in OBGE, discusses the implementation of centralized course evaluation:
In Fall 2023, the Office of Biomedical Graduate Education (OBGE) initiated the use of a centralized, online course evaluation system, Watermark, to gather student evaluations of course, instructor, and small group facilitator (when applicable) effectiveness in courses offered by biomedical PhD programs in the School of Medicine. OBGE evaluated 90 courses, 141 instructors, and 37 facilitators with an overall response rate of 54.02%. The successful implementation of the course evaluation process is attributed to the collaborative efforts of OBGE, program administrators, course directors, and the Office of the University Registrar.
