Good Evening:
Need to fill a broadcasting job? Please send me an e-mail with the details.
Let's start this issue with an advertorial.
Until now local news meant compromise: either staff an expensive newsroom, or accept a halfhearted effort by someone who just rips and reads. Now technology can help upgrade your station’s news while controlling costs!
Each station has unique needs and now Virtual News Center is dedicated to providing unique solutions for your local news.
Why does my station even need local news?
Research shows that the not-so-secret ingredient to radio success is content that is “local, local, local”. However, economic pressures have forced many stations to rely on voice-tracking or syndicated programming. Whether you have a Music Station focusing primarily on morning drive updates, or a News/Talk format requiring round-the-clock updates, compelling local information can be key to keeping your share of audience. Markets with electronic ratings measurement have found that their news and information segments are among the highestrated minutes of the hour. This, in turn, adds value to news sponsorships.
Why should I outsource my station’s news?
For most Music Stations and many News/Talkers, it's hard to justify the cost of even one fulltime news staffer. But when you share the cost with other stations, everybody has better quality at far less expense. Each Virtual News Center™ anchor has years of industry experience and your anchor (or anchors if you like) will be exclusive to your station. Plus they sound like they are part of your staff.
How do you know what’s going on in my market?
Of course Virtual News Center™ can do the normal beat calls, web site checks, and we get on relevant email and fax distribution lists. With today’s technology your DJ does not have to be in the building, your traffic and billing is somewhere else, and now you can have a larger sounding newsroom and not worry about the challenges of attitude in the hall and other issues that go along with a hire.
How are my newscasts delivered?
Virtual News Center™ delivers on-air content via digital audio in MP3 and WAV format. They are posted to a website where your automation software or on-air staff can grab them as needed. Files can be pushed to you if you have the right automation software as well.
What are the Real Savings For my bottom line?
The typical Virtual News Center™ client station invests less than one-third the monthly base salary of a newsperson -- and you don't have the costs of benefits, headaches of staff turnover, or the need of a wire service.
Do I lose the ability to use sound bites and news packages?
Not at all. While many stations want a quick headline-only cast that doesn't include much, if any sound, others prefer sound as much as possible. Whether we collect the audio or edit items you have enterprised, local sound is another facet of the equation that's based on what best meets your station's needs.
How can I find out more?
Contact Joel Dearing at 877-470-6397 to learn how Virtual News Center™ can
become a virtual success for you!
Onto the news!
