William Yang (MSPM '17)was awarded the Honorary Lifetime Pioneer Award at the fall 2017 commencement. "Winning the Lifetime Pioneer Award is like gaining an opportunity to keep inspiring people to be more proactive, not only in academia but also in the community," he said. Yang was also a member of the fall 2016 NSF STEM Scholar Master's Program.
MSCJ alum ('06) and online criminal justice instructorGary Apperson passed away on Jan. 28, 2017, from cancer complications. To honor his memory, a scholarship has been established in his name. As an NSF STEM Scholar, Deborah Dilworth (MSENGR) receives support from her mentor and champion, and she's paying it forward by helping students in grades 5-12 through her role in the National Society of Black Engineers.
