Zoom Backgrounds from the Office of Marketing and Communications at UAH

The Office of Marketing and Communications has created a wonderful set of Zoom backgrounds for UAH users. Check them out!

Follow these instructions to add a background to your sessions. If you need step-by-step assistance setting up your Zoom background, call the 24/7 Faculty Support line for over-the-shoulder support at 833-519-8478 or email helpdesk@uah.edu.

Zoom Recording Notifications

Zoom will no longer automatically send notifications to the Host (and the students in a Canvas course, if applicable) when a Zoom cloud recording is available. Contact helpdesk@uah.edu if you would like to receive those notifications.

Update your Zoom now!

If you have not updated your Zoom, please check out these Zoom upgrade instructions. Make sure you are running the latest version for maximum security and stability.

Be sure to check your mobile app versions of Zoom for updates as well! Those will be handled through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store for Android users.

Want to Host a Zoom Webinar?

Host a Zoom webinar for up to 300 attendees. To schedule it, go into the Astra scheduling system. In the scheduling program, under the building SST, is the “room” Zoom webinar. Request to reserve a time slot in that “room” just as you would a regular classroom to get your webinar scheduled.

MET&L Workshop Series

MET&L (pronounced ‘metal’) meets weekly on most Wednesdays at 2 pm in the ETL virtual FRC on Zoom. Anyone interested in future sessions can sign up for the Zoom room link and reminders by emailing helpdesk@uah.edu. (Please specify which topic or whole series when signing up for reminders and Zoom links with calendar blocking.)

Remote Teaching Equipment Available
in the Salmon Library

Need an iPad, a laptop, webcam, microphone or Wacom stylus/monitor to teach your course remotely? The library has a limited supply for you to check out for the semester as a faculty member. Here are Salmon Library's instructions and information.

Canvas courses for Summer and Fall 2021

Summer 2021 courses will begin appearing in Canvas on March 1st.

Fall 2021 courses will begin appearing in Canvas on April 1st.

If you are listed as the instructor for a section of a course, the course will automatically appear on your Canvas dashboard when you are enrolled.
