Help increase voter turnout among PSU students |
PSU faculty & staff can play an important role in mobilizing students to educate themselves about issues and get registered to vote! Historically, college students vote at lower rates than the national averages for all Americans (Inside Higher Ed, 2024). We can help increase this! Here are five possible action items within The Faculty and Staff Guide: Promoting Student Voter Registration at PSU:
|
- Encourage students to register to vote! (Note: the Oregon deadline is October 15)
- Promote civic engagement events on campus.
- Utilize the Viks Vote module in Canvas (search in 'Commons').
- Encourage students to get involved in civic engagement year-round by joining a group!
- Promote ways students can educate themselves on what’s on their ballot!
