Dear Partner in Ministry,
Last Sunday I preached that the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure that pierces through the ordinary so we glimpse the eternal. (You can read it here.) I asked you to look for those "cracks" in the world. Here's what you've seen, by God's grace:
The kingdom of heaven is like...
... being teased out of a despairing mood by a brilliant crêpe myrtle against a clear blue sky on a low humidity morning;
... my small group creating space for one another in hard times;
... an online service readily available to support as the final family members left our parents' apartment for the last time;
... thunderclouds parting at sunset to anoint the mountain ridge with a stream of golden light;
... a friend trusting me with a difficult part of his life;
... the hidden strength in my young daughter.
Do you see?
Thanks be to God for the gifts of grace that are all around us, waiting to be noticed.
