| National Physician Suicide Awareness Day: Visit NAM's wellness program PROSPER | |
National Physician Suicide Awareness Day (#NPSADay) is Wednesday, September 17. We can all help prevent physician burnout and suicide by learning the signs, starting conversations, understanding underlying barriers, and sharing the resources that can help those in distress seek mental health care.
- Burnout - In response to the growing concern of burnout among physicians, the Nashville Academy of Medicine and the Medical Foundation of Nashville launched PROSPER to provide resources and support and to encourage Middle Tennessee physicians to reach out before they are in crisis.
- Vital Signs - Click here to learn the vital signs if you or someone you know is struggling.
- Crisis - Tennessee Crisis Hotline - 1-855-274-7471

NAM and MFN's PROSPER program is partnering with other regional medical societies and TMA to bring a new Physician Wellness Webinar Series to physicians across the state.
We're excited to kick of the series on Thursday, September 25 at 6 p.m. CST with a session on physician wellness and suicide prevention, featuring NAM's own Michael Baron, MD. We hope you'll join us to learn, connect, and show support for one of our members as we begin this important series together.
