Football: Centennial stops Franklin upset bid in OT thriller, 21-14
By Joe Williams • Sports Writer
FRANKLIN – If it is possible to have two winners in a high school football game, the Centennial versus Franklin game was one that fit the billing.
Centennial all but sealed up a postseason bid by turning back a determined Franklin squad 21-14 in overtime Friday night at Howard Gamble Stadium, but it was far from easy.

Football: Brentwood defense stops Indy in OT to complete comeback
By Charlie Bateman • Sports Writer
BRENTWOOD – The Brentwood High School football team denied a two-point conversion try in overtime to claim a thrilling 24-23 Region 7-6A victory against visiting Independence Friday night.
Down 17-3 in the third quarter, the Bruins completed a comeback and took the lead when Adam Fontechia powered his way into the end zone on the first play of overtime for a 24-17 Brentwood lead. After Independence's Brooks Sapone found Steele Katina in the endzone on fourth-and-goal with a matching touchdown, the Bruins defense clinched the victory by bottling up Tre Hartwell's rushing attempt to seal the region win and send the Brentwood faithful into a frenzy.

Football: Pace adds to workload in Ravenwood win over Spartans
By David Dawson • Sports Writer
BRENTWOOD — Although the Ravenwood High School football team wasn’t at full strength on Friday night, the Raptors were still plenty strong enough.
Carter Pace — along with Ravenwood’s offensive and defensive lines — made sure of that.
Playing without the services of injured quarterback Chris Parson, the Raptors relied heavily on Pace, who rushed for 186 yards and scored three touchdowns during Ravenwood’s 35-7 win over Summit on homecoming night at Ravenwood.

Letter to the Editor: Nolensville Little League coach recaps grueling yet rewarding experience
Dear Nolensville Little League Community,
It has been a few weeks since we returned from Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and to be honest, I am still trying to digest the magical experience we had during our Little League World Series run. It is difficult to put into words how amazing the entire experience was, but I am going to try.
When we started this season, there was a lot of expectation because of the success we had in 2021. There is a reason that only 20 U.S. teams, in the 75-year history of the Little League World Series, have made it in back-to-back years... because it is nearly impossible!
