Dear Red Wolves:
As the New Year begins, our state and our region finds itself in the middle of a surge of COVID-19 cases. Arkansas State University will take the following steps to open on campus and in classes for Spring 2022.
They also recommended that our indoor masking policy will remain in place for areas where social distancing is not possible. This includes classrooms, elevators and congested hallways or entrances. Please be respectful of each other and of each other’s individual space.
I have concurred with both recommendations. Our FAQs for Fall 2021 developed by our Provost’s Office for instructors and by University Housing for on-campus living will also continue to serve as our guidance to start Spring 2022.
I also want to remind everyone about our continuing campus policy on COVID reporting. We continue to require employees and students to report to us if they have COVID-19 symptoms, have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, been sent for a diagnostic COVID-19 test, or have received a positive COVID-19 test result. They do not need to report if they took a COVID-19 test for travel or for a non-COVID-19 related medical procedure.
