What's In Store in Phoenix?
Focusing on Self-Care
Trauma expert and Connecting Paridigms author Matt Bennett will conduct a hands-on workshop on the importance of self-care. Practice skills to combat burn-out, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue while learning how to be more efficient and effective in your work. Read the session description.
Medical Respite Standards, Directory, and Toolkit
Join Project Manager Julia Dobbins for an overview of the Standards for Medical Respite Care, learn about the resources available in the MR toolkit, and explore the newly updated Medical Respite Directory. This session will provide an in-depth look at materials that will enhance current programs and support the development of medical respite care nationwide.
Dedicated Roundtables
Take part in lunchtime roundtable discussions and connect with fellow respite providers, administrators, consumers, and experts from across the U.S. Join peer-driven conversations around mental and behavioral health in medical respite care, as well as emerging issues in the field. Lunch will be provided.
Site Visits to Circle the City
Experience medical respite up-close with visits to Circle the City's respite centers. On both days of the Symposium you will have the opportunity to tour the Midtown and Downtown Respite Centers, and see first-hand how Circle the City provides holistic, integrated care for people experiencing homelessness as they recover from illness or injury. Learn more.
State of Affairs: A Health Policy Update
Health care policy moves rapidly, and keeping up with the latest developments can be challenging. NHCHC Senior Director of Policy Barbara DiPietro will give an overview of the issues and legislation that are directly impacting health, housing, and the HCH Community. Come ready to learn and ask questions!
