What activities were you involved in while you were a student at Denison?
I was a member of the Big Red men’s basketball team and was the captain during my final year.
Since graduation, how have you stayed connected with Denison as an alum?
I have collaborated with the Knowlton Career Center in a number of ways to facilitate internship and career opportunities for Denisonians. From hosting students at Rocket Companies offices to participating in career panels or sharing more about my career journey in an episode of DUing Cool Things (a Knowlton Center Podcast), I have found enjoyment in helping students see potential pathways for themselves, and I love getting and giving back to campus.
What has been most rewarding about your experience volunteering for Denison?
It has been so rewarding to give back to students that were where I was just a few years ago and help them see what they want to do next. Seeing their dreams take shape has been exciting to see.
What would you tell an alum who is considering volunteering for Denison?
Just start now! There are many students who would love to get advice from alums and understand how your experiences on The Hill have helped you get to where you are today.
What is your favorite Denison memory?
Definitely my senior year on the basketball team. It was great to do what I loved for one last year while spending time with my teammates!
