Notre Dame students and faculty are uncovering the legacy of South Bends underrepresented baseball teams. Read what Clinton Carlson, an associate professor of design, and Katherine Walden, an assistant teaching professor in American studies, have to say about the history of teams like the Foundry Giants  a team of Black players working in the Studebaker factorys foundry in the ’20s and ’30s.

‘I’m watching you’ behavior produces racial disparities in school discipline 

Research from Calvin Zimmermann, the O’Shaughnessy Assistant Professor of Education in the Department of Sociology, indicates that even early childhood teachers often apply discipline disproportionately in their classrooms based on a student’s race.

Shamrock Series returns

The Notre Dame football team has announced the return of the Shamrock Series to Yankee Stadium. Notre Dame will face Army on Nov. 23, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the fabled Four Horsemen backfield and the 13-7 upset victory over Army in New York on Oct. 18, 1924. Last information session for Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County will host its last employee information session at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23. The information session is for employees interested in building a new home through the agency. Last year, two Notre Dame staff members were selected to participate in the program.
