SCHEDULING UPDATE FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Dear Brebeuf Jesuit Students and Families,
Thank you all for rolling with the punches this week as we dealt with the inclement weather and accompanying schedule shifts. As we look at our schedule for the coming weeks, I wanted to communicate two important calendar-related items.
First, we've decided to change Monday, February 22 from a 10:35 Delayed Opening to a regularly scheduled school day - Maroon Day 1, beginning at the normal 8:30 a.m. time. After this week's schedule disruptions, we want to maximize consistent class time for our students, and this is a change within our control that we can make.
Please note: The delayed opening scheduled for March 10, 2021 will remain.
Second, we want to establish a standard contingency plan for school closures for the remainder of the semester. Moving forward, any future school closure this semester will be a synchronous online learning day using our regularly planned schedule. For example, this past Tuesday was a Day 5. If this contingency plan had been in place, all Day 5 classes would have met synchronously online during their regularly assigned times. We believe this change can maximize student learning during these types of disruptions.
Thank you all for your continued cooperation and support. There is no snow in the forecast between now and tomorrow, so fingers crossed for a "regular" Friday to finish our week.
