The NJIT Ph.D. graduation ceremony featured student speaker Oliver Alvarado Rodriguez, who received a doctorate in computer science under Distinguished Professor David Bader. His candid and very moving speech shed light on the personal and professional challenges that led to his crowning achievement. “Success doesn’t mean being perfect… It means showing up again and again even when you’re unsure, even when you’re afraid.”

Yvette Wohn and Student Team Present Research on AI Generated Music Covers and Fan Art at IMX 2025

Associate Professor Yvette Wohn and her student team (Sharon Oh, Ian Cho, Tongxin Li and Vineeth Kanpa) presented their published research on how music fans feel about AI generated fan art and AI generated music covers at IMX 2025 (ACM International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Tomer Weiss and University of Leeds Faculty Win Best Student Paper Award at 2025 ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium

Assistant Professor Tomer Weiss and collaborators from the University of Leeds (UK) have won the "best student paper" award at the 2025 ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium on Interactive 3D Graphics and Games, which was held at our NJIT at Jersey City location this year.
