BETHEL BOUTIQUE
Thanks for all those who responded to the Sweet Deal to benefit the Boutique. Baker Tom sold 23 Almond Skillet Cakes to help pay for the shoes and a lot more! Enjoy.
We end the year serving 179 students. This week, Braden was shouting to his Mom about all the cool clothes he was finding on the racks. His enthusiasm was heart warming. So many have benefited from the blessings provided by the Bethel Boutique. Thank you, thank you Bethesda!
Volunteers please take a look at the January sign-up sheet posted on the CONNECT board. Teams of at least two volunteers are needed for each shift. Grab a friend and choose the date and time you’d like to staff the Boutique.  Â
GIVING TREE
The Giving Tree is here! Please take tags and return your food and gifts by December 16th. Every Giving Tree family gets: presents for each child, a $100 gift card to Winco, and a huge box of food and hygiene products (plus a Christmas tree).
Several of you have already sponsored! Thank you! If you want to sponsor instead of buy from tags, the approximate cost for each family that has 2 children is $300. We will take them off the tree and purchase all the gifts for you. If you decide to do this, please write a card to the family and include your name if you wish. Merry Christmas!Â
COFFEE CREEK BOOK DRIVE UPDATE BY JUDGE TRISH BROWN
Already, I am hearing positive feedback about the 1600 books donated to the women at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. The children are very excited about the books (yay! Let’s make some readers shall we?), and the women are grateful. Some of the books came in with a CD for sing-alongs, and whoever gets those books are being allowed to play the CD. This weekend was apparently the little girl weekend, and the Disney Princess books were a huge hit!
Yesterday, one of the kids came in and was telling his mom about the guinea pig he just got. Amazingly, there was a book in your collection about how to care for a guinea pig. He was SO excited!
With another kid, Sgt. Markuson heard her talking about something she was interested in and asked his clerk if there was anything on the topic. There was, so he took it over to the child and gave it to her. Insert
squeals of delight here.
Children’s books are currently being collected by Diana Renn. They will be delivered every couple months to Portland via her husband envoy!Â
