President's Reception Highlights

TMA Elections Close Tomorrow, Feb. 29

Dr. Siegel has been a member of NAM and TMA for 25 years and has held numerous leadership positions incuding serving on the TMA Board of Trustees and as the first female to be elected as Speaker of the House of Delegates.

Join us for Day on the Hill - Wednesday, March 25

Last year, more than 60 NAM members attended Day on the Hill with other physicians from around the state. This annual policy briefing and lobby day in Nashville connects physicians directly with lawmakers so they can advocate for their patients and discuss major issues affecting the medical profession in Tennessee. Tim Jones, MD, Receives Prestigious Dr. Nathan Davis Award from the AMA
Join us in congratulating TDH Chief Medical Officer and Nashville Academy of Medicine member, Tim Jones, MD, on receiving the American Medical Association's Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service! AMA calls Jones "an exemplary physician and public servant."
Consuelo Wilkins, MD named a co-principal investigator of Vanderbilt's Clinical and Translational Science Award.  
Local health equity scholar Dr. Consuelo Wilkins has been named a co-principal investigator of Vanderbilt's Clinical and Translational Science Award. She will promote health equity initiatives and community engagement, as well as work to recruit underrepresented demographics into the research program. She was also featured on the cover of the Feb 2 edition of the Nashville Post for her work in precision medicine.  
Michael Caldwell, MD named Nashville’s Director of Health  
Dr. Caldwell’s public health experience includes serving 19 years as the Commissioner of Health for Dutchess County, New York. In a press release, he stated, "“The Nashville Public Health Department is one of the finest Departments of Health in the country. Our outstanding and innovative public health professionals work every day to improve the health of our entire community with a special focus on health equity. I am honored to join their team.”

NashvilleHealth Data Tool Launches

NashvilleHealth and the Metro Public Health Department have launched a first-of-its-kind interactive website that allows residents, community and business leaders and media to explore recent findings from the Nashville Community Health and Well-Being Survey. Comprised of more than 100 health-related questions, the Nashville Community Health and Well-Being Survey is the first county-wide health assessment in nearly 20 years.
