NEWS
New Agency pages on Dec 5
|
We are launching the new Agency pages on Monday December 5. Agency pages combine department and public body pages.
Your department landing page will automatically become an Agency page on Monday. You'll be able to use the functionality of the new Agency pages. Thank you for giving us feedback and helping us name the page!Â
Â
What’s new
- Simplified color palette that alternates between white and gray above the “About section”
-
Add divisions and subcommittees in the About section. You can now add related divisions and other related departments.
-
Option to add Meetings. If you previously tagged a meeting to your public body AND your department page, that meeting will automatically show up on your new Agency page. (When Public Bodies are updated to Agency pages, this process will be easier. We will work closely with you before these updates happen.)
-
Removed jump links from the top of the page. They take attention away from your top items and were not used by people on the site (see our analysis).
See a full summary of the functionality and changes.Â
Â
See your new Agency page
Here’s a test website set up, so you can see what your new landing page will look like. You do not need to log in to see your page.Â
You can find your department in couple ways:
- Click Departments > click your department name.
- Put your dept page slug after https://pr-1447-sfgov.pantheonsite.io/ to see your new page. For example: https://pr-1447-sfgov.pantheonsite.io/departments/office-economic-and-workforce-development
If you have any feedback, use this form to tell us.
Â
We will email you on Monday when these changes are live, and we’ll also post this info in Teams!
Â
We will keep you updated about the changes to the Public Body pages in early December.

NEW FEATURES
What's new for editors
|
Bulk upload documents
The bulk upload feature allows you to upload multiple documents at a single time. Once uploaded, you can re-name and tag the files with departments or topics. Once saved, the files can be inserted into documents. While this is two-step process, it helps save time and makes it easier to find documents.Â
Â
How to use the bulk upload feature:Â
- Go to Content and select "Media"
- Select “Bulk upload”
- Select “File” as the media type (only .pdf / doc files are supported right now)
-
Drag and drop the files into the box or click on the "Select files" button
- Once all your files have been selected hit “Continue” Â
Once uploaded, you must save each individual file. We recommend renaming the files and tagging the departments and topics.
Â
Here is an example of how you can tag your files to make it easier to file them later: “abc meeting agenda 1.2.2022”. Or you can add in your department, a topic, or keywords.Â
Â
Once everything has been saved, you can go back to your page and attach your files.

"Edit" button removed from image section
Having both the “Remove” and “Edit” button was confusing. Now, you can only remove images when working on a page. To update an image, you must remove the existing image then add the new one. This prevents changes to images across multiple pages.
Â
Follow these steps to update an image:
- Go to "Media"
-
Find the image you want to use
- Update the image

DID YOU KNOW?
Today's publishing tip
|
Create accessible PDFs
Now that you can bulk upload PDFs, make sure they are accessible! The easiest method is to create an accessible document (Word or Google Doc) to begin with, using heading paragraph formats as appropriate.
