Emerging Leaders Fellowship Launches HBCU Inaugural Cohort

HBCU Inaugural Cohort with Baltimore Corps and University Leadership
On Friday, September 20, the Emerging Leaders Fellowship celebrated the start of its HBCU Inaugural Cohort Orientation. This fellowship is a significant step toward opening doors for Coppin State alumni to pursue careers in city government, offering them a platform to drive real change in their communities.
Provost Haywood delivered inspiring words to the cohort, offering encouragement, and highlighting the impact they are poised to make. Her words left everyone motivated and eager to take on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Participants also learned about Baltimore Corps, the organization spearheading this initiative, and how it champions equitable pathways to leadership in city government. The day was filled with opportunities to network—not only with Baltimore Corps staff but also with fellow cohort members—fostering meaningful relationships that will extend well beyond the fellowship.
We are excited to watch this cohort grow and cannot wait to celebrate their achievements when they step into city leadership roles, and shape the future of their communities.
