April 30 and May 1, 2021
Dear Alumni,
In these uncertain and challenging times, we are reminded of the power and importance of connection -- with each other, with our alumni, and with our extended community.
In accordance with guidelines from the CDC and Governor Wolf, and given the rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Alumni Weekend 2020, including Arts Festival and Golden Fords Luncheon. We look forward to hosting 0s and 5s classes along with 1s and 6s classes during Alumni Weekend on April 30 and May 1, 2021. In addition to our forthcoming work with 1s and 6s, we will coordinate with 0s and 5s Reunion Class Chairs and Reunion Committees around next year’s celebration, or support you in additional ideas around class gatherings.
We know how important the events of the weekend are for our alumni across generations; the conversations and exchanges that take place serve as inspiration for us here in Palmer House, and for Haverford teachers, coaches, and mentors past and present. Your friendships and collective support are a reminder of the lifelong bond that today’s students and families share, and the powerful network of which they will soon be a part.
The Palmer House team remains focused on the engagement of our alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends, from honoring traditions like the Form VI maroon blazer fittings and caricatures, to Chris Fox hosting a daily drawing challenge online and Tom Stambaugh '90 conducting peer editing and discussion, to holding virtual athletic drills and team building. Support takes many forms; the strength and love that you demonstrate to our community motivates others to help advance the School’s mission.
Thank you for all you do for Haverford, for each other, and for the boys. We will be in touch with Reunion Class Chairs to help guide us through this time together -- we are #FordsStrong!
