Solar East Side Press Conference with the Mayor of Milwaukee
Dear Member,
This week brought big news for solar power in Wisconsin. On Friday, a county court struck down We Energies' fee on solar customers, which would have been an additional $3.79/kilowatt of power capacity each month. For a typical 5-kilowatt solar installation on a home, the fee would have been $19 per month, reducing energy bill savings by 27%. Congratulations to our colleagues at The Alliance for Solar Choice & RENEW Wisconsin for this solar win!
This victory comes just a few weeks after MREA and the City of Milwaukee announced that the Solar East Side Group Buy reached 85 kW of solar installations, offsetting the equivalent of 225,792 pounds of carbon dioxide each year from a coal-fired power plant. This brings the total for the Milwaukee solar group buy program to 322 kW.
Thank you for the support and commitment that makes this work possible.
Shine on,
Devon Cupery
