Welcome to the Spring 2024 newsletter! In this issue, we recognize our retiring faculty member Rahmatullah Imon, introduce four new faculty members (Chris Austin, Rob Damler, Kristi Martin, and Michael Pilla), and showcase the accomplishments of several current students and faculty colleagues. We also learn about the career path of Paul Atandoh since graduating from Ball State in 2019 with a master’s degree in actuarial science.
If you have not yet done so, I encourage you to check out our latest edition of the Ball State Mathematics Exchange undergraduate research journal (volume 17, Fall 2023) – a link is provided to all issues. Under the guidance of managing editor Yayuan Xiao, this issue includes nine refereed articles that touch on a wide variety of topics.
As always, we appreciate your support and look forward to hearing from you!

The Mathematics Exchange is a journal for undergraduate research in the mathematical sciences, including pure mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, and actuarial science. Often the articles are written by undergraduates individually, working in teams, or working with faculty. On occasion we also include articles written solely by faculty as long as they are accessible to undergraduates. All issues of the journal are freely available online.
