Meet Bryce Campbell
We are thrilled to welcome Bryce as the newest addition to our design team. Bryce joins Richardson Design as Senior Designer and will be responsible for developing highly innovative and creative solutions for our clients. Most recently, Bryce worked for WD Partners in Columbus, where he earned the title of Senior Environments Designer. While there, he worked on a variety of projects with companies such as Target, Gatorade, Intel, and Echo Park Automotive, as well as with the Corporate Dining and Higher Education divisions of Aramark. He has also worked for Vocon and Interbrand Design Forum, and is a 2009 graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Art.
“Bryce was one of my students when I was still teaching at CIA,” says Scott Richardson. "I could tell then, that he was one of those students who would develop into a talented designer. When we set out late last year to find another key team member, Bryce was at the top of a very short list. I was ecstatic to learn that he was open to moving back to Cleveland to further develop his career.” Bryce fits in amazingly well with our team and we can’t wait for our clients to get to know him and witness his amazing sense of design.

IDS 2016: Overview
Members of our team were fortunate to make the journey to IDS in Toronto this year. The show featured the newest and most innovative design products from around the world, and the team came back motivated and inspired with this year's presentation. IDS has quickly become one of our favorite shows of the year! Here's a quick overview:

Showrooms
Among our favorite larger showrooms were ultracompact surface company Dekton, and luxury kitchen designer Avani. The IDS team obviously agreed with us, as both showrooms won awards for Best Booth Design.

Dekton by Cosentino, Silver Award for Best Booth Design
Avani Kitchens, Gold Award for Best Booth Design
Paint manufacturer Beauti-Tone, and contemporary rug designer Jan Kath also stood out amongst the crowd. Beauti-Tone's unique showroom was set up to resemble a coffee shop. As shown below, a creative paint lid display anchored their signage and aptly represented their brand. Paint dripped through slow drip coffee brewers, reinforcing the theme.
The gorgeous and vibrant rugs of Germany based Jan Kath are nearly impossible to miss as they layer traditional patterns with modern colors and patterns. The effect is truly spectacular, and he has recently come out with the 'Spacecrafted' collection, inspired by images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope and Kath's fascination with the unique night sky in Nepal.

Pantone Color(s) of the Year
As you may have heard, Pantone went outside the box this year by naming not one, but two Color(s) of the Year. The application of Rose Quartz and Serenity was apparent throughout IDS and added a sense of decadence to the show.
