October Member of the Month

Darla White’s association management career began after a post-9/11 pivot from staffing. She joined the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association as a Coordinator, quickly advancing to Association Executive. Her path led to roles with the Washington State Medical Association and now Seattle King County REALTORS. She enjoys gardening and RV trips with her husband, Mike, and their German Shepherds.

[4] FTC Announces Click-to-Cancel Rule

The Federal Trade Commission announced in October a final “click-to-cancel” rule that will require sellers to make it as easy for consumers to cancel their enrollment as it was to sign up. Most of the final rule’s provisions will go into effect 180 days after it is published in the Federal Register. We are watching how this impacts associations.

[5] Native American Indian Heritage Month

What started at the turn of the century as an effort to gain a day of recognition for the significant contributions the first Americans made to the establishment and growth of the U.S., has resulted in a whole month being designated for that purpose.
