Dear Partner in Ministry,
This August, you’ll notice something a little different in worship: several of your fellow congregation members will be stepping into the pulpit to share personal testimonies as part of our summer invitation to sabbath keeping.
Sabbath is an ancient, countercultural practice, rooted in creation. At its heart, sabbath holds three things together: stopping work, engaging community, and creating spaciousness. It is a gift that reminds us our lives are held not by our own striving, but by God’s grace.
The stories you’ll hear in worship won’t be polished sermons. They’ll be honest, personal reflections from people you know and worship alongside every week. We hope you’ll listen with open hearts, and perhaps find your own experience of sabbath — or your longing for it — reflected back to you.
We’re grateful to those willing to share so openly, and we invite you to hold them in prayer as they prepare. We hope that as we hear these testimonies we will learn together what it means to rest in God’s grace.
See you in worship --
Jessica & Meghan
