Jaydira Del Rivero, MD, is a Physician Scientist in the Developmental Therapeutics Branch of the National Cancer Institute, Center for Cancer Research. Her research is focused on developing novel treatment approaches and targeted therapies for endocrine malignancies including advanced gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, adrenocortical cancer and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma.
Dr. Del Rivero is part of the NCI’s Rare Tumor Initiative. For the natural history studies, Dr. Del Rivero’s group collects data about the patients including demographics, clinical characteristics, familial genetics with adequate genetic counseling, patterns of disease progression, response or lack of response to therapeutic interventions, disease recurrence, and overall survival. The goal is to develop novel therapies for these cancers.
