Dear Denisonian‚
The leaves are falling, the air is cooling, and another Denison semester is in full swing! Earlier this month, parents, family members, and alumni visited campus for Big Red Weekend. Two weeks later, after midterms, students caught their breath over fall break. Thanks to the diligence of the entire community, we’ve kept COVID under control without causing major disruptions on campus. Athletes are competing, clubs are meeting, and musicians and actors are performing.
With excitement, the Board of Trustees and Alumni Council members returned to campus in person this past week for the first time in 18 months. As an alumni-nominated trustee, I cherished this visit for many reasons, one being its influence on my own alumni experience. While I enjoyed seeing faculty members and friends from my college days, I found the most joy while interacting with students and building new friendships through service to the university. These opportunities enrich my life in incredible ways and help me feel connected to our fair college on The Hill.
The changing seasons remind us that fall offers a great time for reflection and gratitude. Please, take this opportunity to evaluate your Denison alumni experience. Is it reaching its full potential? Reach out and let us know. You have myriad ways to engage with Denison, and we would love to hear from you.
Go Big Red!
