All or Multiple Disciplines
Best & Brightest Scholarship- Deadline: May 31. Millennium Momentum Foundation, Inc. awards academic scholarships to aspiring undergraduate and graduate college students pursuing careers in public service related fields. In addition to the academic scholarship, recipients of this highly coveted award benefit from, and are required to participate in, wrap-around service delivery rendered through the agency's Leadership Development Institute which integrates peer & professional mentoring, leadership development training, and an array of other supportive services in an effort to prepare scholars and non-scholars to transition successfully from the classroom into the workforce.

Repair the World Fellowship- Deadline: May 31. An invaluable opportunity to delve into social justice related concepts, ideas, communities, experiences, neighbors, and friends that you might not have had the chance to have otherwise. Through a Jewish lens the fellowship guides participants into cultivating social change in their respective communities, specifically surrounding food and education justice. You do not need to be Jewish to apply. Anyone between the ages of 21-26 is eligible to apply for the Fellowship.

CivicSpark Fellow- Deadline: June 1.  A Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program dedicated to building capacity for local governments in California to address community resilience issues such as climate change, water resource management, and access to opportunities. Each year, CivicSpark hires 90 Fellows to implement targeted projects to support local governments throughout California. Fellows serve for an 11-month period of time, and must complete a minimum of 1700 hours during that time period (equivalent to working ~38-42 hours per week). Fellows will serve full-time, with 14 holidays and 40 hours of personal and/or sick time. The 2018-19 service year will start in early September 2018 and end early August 2019.Anyone who is a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States who has a Bachelor’s degree or higher can apply to the program.

Apply to attend this free student conference that will introduce you to the rewarding career of public service and the vital role that it plays in promoting social justice and equity in our communities.

How can you make an impact? Panels and group discussions with students, faculty, and alumni working in the public sector will expose you to the myriad ways that you can make a difference in your community through public service.

Why is social justice important in public service? Public servants have a responsibility to improve the quality of life for all members of our communities. Experiential learning through a case study will challenge you to think about how you can address policy issues while achieving equitable outcomes.

What do you need to know to pursue a career in public service? Activities will include professional development, guidance on how to apply to graduate school, and real world skills development such as data analysis, community engagement, and public speaking.

Los Angeles is an exciting living and learning laboratory. This free 3 day conference will provide you with an educational experience in an urban city that is improving communities through innovation and social change. Our society currently faces challenges that call on a new generation of creative thinkers and doers to explore beyond the status quo. Learn how you can be a future change maker through public service.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, a legal permanent resident, or qualify for the DREAM Act. Participants will be undergraduate sophomores or juniors at a 2 or 4-year college or university with interest in the public sector living in the following states: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Preference will be given to underrepresented students. All majors welcome.
